Skotsko

Roll’s Boys are Britain-bound!  I can’t wait. It’s a drag that Eda is no longer with us, but I’m looking forward to some more time with Tomas Dvorak, mando picker from the Prague megastar band Relief.

We get on a plane in Praha tomorrow at 17:30, roll off in Glasgow around 19:00, and are supposed to be on stage at 20:00.  Uvidime, as they say in Czech – We’ll see.

I’m still foggy on details, but apparently Scottish Bluegrass godfather John Sheldon is going to be taking care of us, and Zdenek says that that means we’ll be fine.  All the Boys are looking forward to returning to Scotland, and I’m curious what it will be like.

I’ve been trying to focus my ethnographer over the past few days, thinking about what I am aiming at on this trip.
- Scottish bluegrassisms – what’s the scene like there?

- Roll’s Boys reaction to the Scots, the scene, etc.

- me.

I’ll let you know how it goes.  To track our progress (or at least know where we’re supposed to be) click to the SBA website, which describes us Boys as “An exciting traditional  six piece band from the Czech Republic returning to Scotland by popular demand. These guys are simply the best and put on a brilliant show of great harmony singing plus fast and furious instrumentals; all delivered with great humour and polished professionalism - as hot as a chilli stew!  – these boys really burn.”

Wow.  again, uvidime.
